Background and context
What the record describes
The record describes a master protocol with two independent studies. One (YSA1) enrols adults who cannot or will not use positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy. The other (YSA2) enrols adults who have used PAP for at least three months and plan to continue.
Who can take part
Adults need moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea, an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of at least 15 on a study sleep test, and a BMI of at least 27. People with diabetes are excluded. There are two primary endpoints at week 64, percent change in body weight and change in AHI. Participation lasts about 76 weeks.
What the record does not say
No results are posted. The record does not say how the two sub-studies will be reported, or whether they will be analysed together.
