Background and context

What the record describes

ENLIGHTEN-4 is a master protocol covering two independent studies in adults with obesity or overweight and painful knee osteoarthritis. It compares once-weekly eloralintide with placebo, double-blind.

Who can take part and what is measured

Adults need a BMI of at least 27 and knee osteoarthritis with pain. People with any type of diabetes or an active knee infection are excluded. There are two primary endpoints at week 64, percent change in body weight and change in the WOMAC pain subscale score. Participation lasts about 75 weeks.

Reading a pain endpoint

No results are posted. A pain score and a weight change measured in the same trial cannot show by themselves that one drives the other.
