Primary endpoints

  • Primary: change from baseline in clamp-derived insulin sensitivity (M-value) from a hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp, at week 24. Secondary: change from baseline in body weight at week 24 (ClinicalTrials.gov, confirmed 2026-10-01)

Primary registry record

A trial registration shows that a study exists. It does not show that the compound works, is safe, or has been approved, and recruitment says nothing about the eventual result.

This blinded Phase 1 study compares eloralintide with placebo for effects on insulin sensitivity, metabolic health (such as blood sugar and cholesterol) and body weight in people with obesity or overweight. Each participant is in the study about 35 weeks, with three inpatient visits. Sites are in Germany and Sweden.

Read with care: A registry record describes a study’s plan and status. It is not a result, and it does not show that the drug works or is safe.

Study context

What the study tests

This Phase 1 study compares eloralintide with placebo, with investigators and participants blinded, in adults with overweight or obesity. The primary endpoint is change in insulin sensitivity, measured with a hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp (the M-value), from baseline to week 24. Body weight change at week 24 is a secondary measure. The record lists 115 participants, and each takes part for about 35 weeks, including three inpatient visits totalling seven days.

Who can take part

Adults aged 18 to 70 need a BMI from 25 to 45, an HbA1c below 6.5% and a body weight that has changed by less than 5% in the past three months. People with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, pancreatitis or a known gastric emptying abnormality are excluded. Sites are in Germany and Sweden.

What the registry does not say

No results are posted. The Swedish site is listed as not yet recruiting. A clamp study measures how the body handles insulin under controlled conditions, so it does not on its own describe everyday outcomes. Primary completion is registered for August 2027.
