Primary endpoints

  • Primary as registered: number of participants allocated to each intervention-specific appendix (baseline to week 6) (ClinicalTrials.gov, confirmed 2026-10-01)

Primary registry record

A trial registration shows that a study exists. It does not show that the compound works, is safe, or has been approved, and recruitment says nothing about the eventual result.

This is Lilly’s Phase 2 chronic weight management master protocol (CWMM, LY900038). It is a framework: it sets entry criteria for newly enrolled participants and lets separate intervention-specific appendices start as investigational drugs become available. The record lists several drugs. This site describes only the eloralintide appendices, which include NCT06603571 and NCT07589608. It runs at 56 sites in the United States and Argentina.

Read with care: this is an umbrella protocol, not a single trial with one result, and its 1,481 planned participants should not be added to the enrollment of the studies that run under it. A registry record describes a study’s plan and status. It is not a result, and it does not show that the drug works or is safe.

Study context

What the study tests

This is a Phase 2 master protocol for chronic weight management. It is a framework: it sets shared entry criteria for adults with obesity or overweight, and separate intervention-specific appendices (ISAs) test individual drugs, which can start independently as drugs become available. The interventions listed include eloralintide (as LY3841136), tirzepatide and several other investigational compounds. The record lists 1,481 participants.

Who can take part

Adults aged 18 to 75 need a BMI of at least 30, or at least 27 with a weight-related condition, and a stable body weight. The master protocol excludes prior or planned obesity surgery, type 1 diabetes, poorly controlled hypertension and symptomatic gallbladder disease in the past two years. Sites are in the United States and Argentina.

What the registry does not say

No results are posted, and the record says the master protocol results will be reported once all the appendices are complete. Its only primary endpoint counts how many participants were allocated to each appendix, so it carries no efficacy result of its own. The Phase 2 eloralintide trial NCT06230523 and the studies NCT06603571 and NCT07589608 run under this framework. Primary completion is registered for September 2027.
