ADA 2026 poster reports eloralintide combined with tirzepatide in obese rats
CombinationP1Primary public evidenceConference presentation
At the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions in New Orleans (5 to 8 June 2026), Lilly scientists presented poster 3082-LB on eloralintide with tirzepatide in diet-induced obese rats. The poster summary reports a 20% body weight reduction with the combination, a figure it gives as approximate, against 9% to 10% for either medicine alone, with additive effects on fat mass at 4 weeks.
20% vs 9% to 10%
Body weight reduction in rats: combination vs either medicine alone (poster summary, approximate)
Background and context
Where the human work is registered
The combination has also been registered in people. Two Phase 1 records pair the medicines in adults with overweight or obesity. NCT06345066 lists 96 participants with safety as the primary endpoint and weight at week 42 as a secondary measure. NCT06916065 lists 188 participants in six cohorts, with drug levels and safety as primary endpoints. A Phase 2 study in type 2 diabetes (NCT06603571) lists 367 participants and a primary endpoint of percent change in body weight at week 48.
Why the animal figure sits apart
The poster summary reports rat results at 4 weeks. Where the registered human studies measure weight, they do so at 42 or 48 weeks, so the two sets of figures answer different questions.
