This study tests macupatide and eloralintide, alone and together, against placebo in adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes. Participation lasts about 48 weeks and the first weight measurement is at week 32. It runs at 42 sites in the United States, Argentina, Australia and Puerto Rico.
Read with care: A registry record describes a study’s plan and status. It is not a result, and it does not show that the drug works or is safe.
Study context
What the study tests
This Phase 2 study tests macupatide and eloralintide, alone and together, against placebo, double-blind, in adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes. The primary endpoint is percent change in body weight from baseline to week 32. The record lists 200 participants, and participation lasts about 48 weeks.
Who can take part
Adults aged 18 to 75 need type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c from 7.5% to 10.5%, treated with diet and exercise, metformin or an SGLT2 inhibitor for at least three months, plus a stable body weight and a BMI of at least 27. The record excludes insulin use in the past year and recent use of amylin, GLP-1, GIP/GLP-1 or glucagon-based receptor agonists. Sites are in the United States, Argentina, Australia and Puerto Rico.
What the registry does not say
The study is no longer recruiting and no results are posted. HbA1c, BMI and fasting glucose are secondary measures at week 32, so they are plans, not findings. Macupatide is part of every active arm except eloralintide alone, so any later result has to be read arm by arm. Primary completion is registered for March 2027.
